Trouser patterns
Turn a trouser photo into a sewing pattern
NotchGrain can generate supported trouser families from a photo reference, then combine them with governed closures, waist treatments and supported pocket constructions.
How NotchGrain approaches it
The trouser engine treats fit and construction as real pattern requirements. A visual label such as wide-leg or tapered is resolved to a governed trouser family before generation.
- 01Governed trouser families include straight, tapered, wide-leg and other supported silhouettes.
- 02Supported routes include centre-back zip and centre-front zip-fly constructions.
- 03Functional supported pockets generate real pocket pieces, not decorative drawings.
- 04Personal Fit uses the customer's lower-body measurements when the route can realise them.
Important
A reference image is not a promise that every detail is supported
NotchGrain checks the exact confirmed combination against its production capabilities. If a construction is not governed, the product must tell you before generation rather than quietly produce a different pattern.
Frequently asked questions
Can NotchGrain turn every clothing photo into a sewing pattern?
No. NotchGrain only generates a pattern when the recognised garment and construction details are supported by its governed pattern engines. Unsupported combinations are identified before pattern generation rather than silently substituted.
Can I use my own measurements?
Yes. You can use a standard size or Personal Fit with saved body measurements. Personal Fit is only delivered when the pattern engine can prove that the customer's measurements were actually realised.
What printable pattern formats are available?
NotchGrain supports printable A4 and US Letter output for home printing and A0 output for large-format copy-shop printing.
