Custom pattern

Create a custom sewing pattern from a photo

A photo can provide the design reference, while your chosen size or measurements provide the fit. NotchGrain keeps those two jobs separate.

How NotchGrain approaches it

The image helps identify what the garment is supposed to be. The pattern is then generated from controlled drafting rules rather than scaled from the photograph, so the pattern can be built for a real body size.

  1. 01Design comes from the confirmed garment reference.
  2. 02Fit comes from a supported standard size or your own measurements.
  3. 03Pattern Gate checks the requested construction before delivery.
  4. 04Unsupported details are refused rather than replaced without your approval.

Important

A reference image is not a promise that every detail is supported

NotchGrain checks the exact confirmed combination against its production capabilities. If a construction is not governed, the product must tell you before generation rather than quietly produce a different pattern.

Frequently asked questions

Can NotchGrain turn every clothing photo into a sewing pattern?

No. NotchGrain only generates a pattern when the recognised garment and construction details are supported by its governed pattern engines. Unsupported combinations are identified before pattern generation rather than silently substituted.

Can I use my own measurements?

Yes. You can use a standard size or Personal Fit with saved body measurements. Personal Fit is only delivered when the pattern engine can prove that the customer's measurements were actually realised.

What printable pattern formats are available?

NotchGrain supports printable A4 and US Letter output for home printing and A0 output for large-format copy-shop printing.
